Like most other humans, I am always growing and changing. If I was forced to describe myself, however, I would say, “I am a traveling artist.”
I work as a graphic designer and photographer and love my career choice. Making art and getting paid to do it? Say it isn’t so! It’s enjoyable combining two of my passions – graphic arts and photography – and watching everything come together in print. Very rewarding, and a career path I wouldn’t trade for anything. They say you should combine the things you love together – they are right. Whoever “they” are. Probably my parents or someone else older and wiser than I.
When I’m not at work, I’m out on the streets of Atlanta looking for everything new and anything familiar. It’s a city with such a great vibe, and a good mix of natives and transplants. However, Atlanta is merely my “home base” so to speak. I thoroughly enjoy travel and hope to see every continent before I bite the big one. I’d honestly like to se every last square inch of this vast planet we call Earth, but you have to start small when you dream big. If someone told me one day that I could never have a passport again, I’d probably cry. I simply can’t imagine life without at least one plane ride a year (even though I have this crazy fear of heights and plane crashes like no other).
Adventure is another major part of my life. I spend most of my time around the city, so whenever I can get out and experience the outdoors, I’m more than thrilled. Camping, hiking, swimming, playing in the ocean, hang gliding… it’s all fair game for me. Even a friendly game of kickball isn’t too much to ask! I’m not the most active person on this planet, but it doesn’t require any force to get me to agree to most outdoor activities.
Following the green movement is something I’ve recently gotten into, though I don’t go overboard with it (yet?). Life is about balance, give and take, creating a world that makes you happy which in turn makes those around you happier. Recycling, buying organic, using tote bags, and cutting back on non-reusable packaging is a great place to start. Also, baking soda and vinegar are two of the most useful (and cheapest!) household tools ever.
If you just came here to find out what I like to eat the most or what my favorite color is… I can answer at least one of those. I love strawberries. I can eat a pound box of them all by myself. I don’t have a favorite color, so I’m sorry to disappoint there. Boo.
Those same mysterious “they” folks also say that we constantly change and life is about discovering who we are on a never-ending journey. It is difficult to describe yourself online, but I think this does a good job of peeling off at least one of many layers. Befriend me and we can learn even more together.
